How to make a round robin schedule

1. Type one player or team per line (up to 32).
2. Leave Shuffle the order on for a random draw, and turn on Play everyone twice for home and away games.
3. Press Make schedule. Every round lists its matches; with an odd number, one player sits out each round.
4. After each match, tap the winner or Draw. The standings show played, won, drawn, lost and points.
5. Share link sends the schedule with its results; Print gives a paper copy.

How many games and rounds?

In a round robin every pair meets once, so the number of games is players × (players − 1) ÷ 2: 6 games for 4 players, 28 for 8, 66 for 12. With an even number of players there are players − 1 rounds, and everyone plays in every round. With an odd number there is one round per player, and each player sits out once.

The schedule uses the circle method: one player stays in place and the others rotate, so each round pairs everyone with a new opponent.

Points and standings

A win is worth 3 points, a draw 1 point and a loss 0, as in most leagues. Players are ranked by points, then by wins. If two players are still level, decide it your way: the match between them, a playoff, or a coin flip.

Round robin or bracket?

A round robin is fairest because everyone plays everyone, but it needs many more games. It suits leagues, small groups and group stages.
