How to use the letter wheel
- Press Spin, tap the wheel, or press the space bar.
- The wheel slows down and shows the result in large type.
- Use No hard letters to leave out Q, U, V, X, Y and Z for word games.
Games to play
- Categories: spin a letter, then name a country, an animal and a food starting with it.
- Word race: first to write five words with the letter wins.
- Phonics: say the letter's sound and a word that starts with it.
- Tongue twisters: make one up with the letter you land on.

Questions
Is every letter equally likely?
Yes. On the A to Z wheel, each of the 26 letters has a 1 in 26 chance, because every slice is the same width and your browser's cryptographic random number generator picks where it stops. Q and Z come up as often as E.
Why leave out Q, U, V, X, Y and Z?
Few words start with them, so they make word games stall. The No hard letters button leaves them out; A to Z puts them back.
