How to make your wheel

1. Give it a title and, if you like, a line of instructions. Both show above the wheel.
2. Type each option in its own row. Press Add option for more, or Paste a list to add many at once.
3. Tap + on a row to add a picture, and the color square to change its color.
4. Add a note to any option: an answer, a translation, a task. It appears when that option wins.
5. Tick quiz mode to keep notes hidden until you tap Show the answer.

The example is an irregular verbs quiz: the wheel shows the verb, the note holds the answer. Press Example any time to get it back.

Lesson ideas

• Vocabulary with pictures: a picture on each slice, the word in the note.
• Quiz wheel: a question on each slice, the answer in the note, quiz mode on.
• Speaking prompts: "Describe your weekend", "Give directions to the station", with example phrases in the note.
• Grammar drills: verbs, tenses, question words, with the correct form in the note.
• Class jobs and reading groups: student names with pictures.
• Reward wheel: small classroom rewards; use Change the odds to make big ones rarer.

Present it in class

Press the full-screen button under the wheel for the classroom screen. Under the options you can add a 3-2-1 countdown, pick from 13 spin sounds and 17 win sounds, turn on mystery mode, or play elimination until one option is left. The title and instructions stay on screen in full screen.

Share it with students and colleagues

• Link: the link button copies a link with your options, notes, title and instructions. Pictures are too big for a link.
• Wheel file: under Save, share and embed, download a wheel file with everything in it, pictures included. Open it on another computer, or email it to a colleague.
• Your class website: under Put this wheel on your website, copy the embed code into a class blog or site.
• Save it here: My saved wheels keeps as many wheels as you like in this browser, one per lesson.
