How to use the letter dice
- Choose how many dice (1 to 16) and which letters.
- Press Roll or the space bar.
- Every die picks a letter at random from its set, so the same letter can come up on more than one die.
Word games to play
- Make a word: roll 7 to 9 letters and find the longest word you can.
- Category race: roll one letter, then name a country, an animal and a food starting with it. Printable Scattergories lists help.
- Spelling practice: roll a letter and spell a word that starts with it.
- Vowel and consonant mix: roll 3 vowels and 6 consonants, then make words.

Questions
Is every letter equally likely?
Yes, within the set you chose. With all letters, each has a 1 in 26 chance on every die.
Why leave out J, Q, X and Z?
Few English words start with them, so games go faster without them. That set has 22 letters.
How many letter dice can I roll?
Up to 16 at once.
